History of Climate Concerns
Since the 1970's we have been hearing that the world as we know it is about to end, and soon. For fifty years the message has been the same. Only the nature of the anticipated changes differs.
In 1970 ecologist Kenneth Watt said, “The world has been chilling sharply for about 20 years ...' 'If present trends continue, the world will be about 4 degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990 but 11 degrees colder in the year 2000. '... twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
In 1975, C.C. Wallen of the World Meteorological Organization said that “(t)he cooling since 1940 has been large enough and consistent enough that it will not soon be reversed.”
Scientist Nigel Calder wrote that “(t)he threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind.”
When these predictions fizzled in the 1980's alarming statements about climate shifted from dire warnings about global cooling to dire warnings about global warming.
Columbia University scientist James Hansen’s 1988 congressional testimony was one of the watershed moments in putting the global warming agenda before the American people in a major way.
In 1989 U.N. climate activist Noel Brown said if global warming isn’t reversed by 2000 it would be too late to avert catastrophe. The San Jose Mercury News wrote: “... entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000", said Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program."
In 2000, U.K. climate scientist David Viner predicted that snow was going to become “a very rare and exciting event” and that "Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time.”
On Feb. 27, 2018, almost 20 years after Viner's prediction the U.K. Express wrote: “London has been hit by a wall of snow in a huge blizzard as the UK is rocked by bone-chilling temperatures...”
In 2009 during negotiations for the Copenhagen Agreement, former U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown predicted that if they didn’t solve the “impasse” they found themselves in, within 50 days the world was pretty much doomed.
On July 9, 2009 according to the U.K. Independent web site, Prince Charles had calculated there were just 96 months left to save the world. Eight years later 2017 surrendered to 2018 far less eventfully than His Royal Highness had predicted.

On July 4, 1919 the temperature in Toledo Ohio was over 100 degrees fahrenheit during the boxing match between Jack Dempsey and then heavyweight champion Jess Willard. (Dempsey won with a first-round knockout of the much larger Willard.)
Back then 100° plus was regarded as very hot but not unheard of for midsummer. Today every warm day is a news item. Corporate media outlets and government departments chant 'climate change' while governments seek control over more and more property and resources.
Checking in on global warming
The idea behind global warming is that it leads to a dramatic increase in sea levels. If you think for a moment you will realize that sea levels are physical phenomena that can be observed and measured independently of biased scientists and government propaganda. The following links show two on-going sea level measurments on both sides of North America that have been in operation for more than 100 years. According to the government scientific recordings (NOAA) the annual rate of sea level rise is less than three milimeters per year:

2022 Temperature Increase
In 2022 the high atmospheric temperature did increase. Carbon dioxide had nothing to do with it.
The media did blame CO2, but the actual cause was water vapor from one of the largest undersea volcanic eruptions in history.
On January 15, 2022 the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano erupted, introducing molten rock to seawater more than 400 feet below the waves. The resulting cataclysm vaporized close to 40 trillion gallons of water. The plume of superheated steam increased the amount of water vapor in Earth's atmosphere by a whopping 13%. Water vapor in air retains heat—more efficiently than carbon dioxide—leading to a slight overall increase in air temperatures.
The media and governments have kept mum about this highly relevant fact in order to claim that CO2 was the villain.

There is reason to question whether global warming is an immanent threat to human existence. There is no question that climate change is being used by governments to greatly expand control of property, resources, and virtually every aspect of our society.
